here when the lilz show up its over with for the big fish
some will show back up and drop a last bit of eggs
and a straggler or 2 fat girl might be in the mix
but the big herds of 1.25 and ups are long done here when we see that
mind you this though , some lakes are different and sometimes one end is a lil festival
and a week later a spot that hasnt seen a short water fish this year on the other end of the lake ,will light up good with fat fish
    terribly unpredictable is the spawn

I will say the males do seem to not be as aggressive this year some of the time and then like on a switch nothing can get close to them.....

    This was yesterday......
i aint seen a good colored up one in a week or so ,maybe longer
i am sure there are some somewhere up here but i aint stumbled on them lately
ketched a few males the other day that had nothing going on when i boated them
and they turned in the livewell , but they didnt get real dark ,just noticeably male

this is the strategy of the crappie during reproduction .
spread it out and do it frequently and the chance for one of the hatches to be successful is far greater

I saw color in the few I caught yesterday. One was a large male caught a few feet from the rocks. I only fished for an hour yesterday and did not fish today due to the weather.
