Some might say
they are starting to move up .
some are waiting for it to happen .
my thoughts on that are as follows .
when the majority of the them are pretty small .
And the males are in solid colors
and in high numbers ratios to the girls .
it is my general opinion it is about to slow up soon with fish on the bank .
now mind you every lake seems different, but typically ,the past has shown me that the big fish go first and the smalls follow them .
case in point , numbers of them shallow
every cast and or drop in some spots .
lots of 9 to 10 inch fish
a few real solid keepers in the mix
equals FULL spawn and the action will wain pretty soon .
that and a few bluegills here and there in the mix and it spells
soon to be gone to the deeper water
hope i am wrong about that spot ,but dont think so in this case .
2 to 3 weeks is what is left on the numbers of them shallow there is my prediction .
none the less it was really fun and i hope to go soon again
they bit non stop for the most part from 6 pm to 9 pm
bigger fish were in a bit deeper water .

I’m seeing the juvenile males coming in now along with some thumper red ears.
If I could just get one more rain to raise the lake by 1-2 feet. I think there would be one last push with some big fish moving in for a 3-4 days then the brims would take over the shallows

this is how it works , there is a final push and in that mix are some egg eaters and early to the party other sunfish
i done seen the carp up on the nests eating eggs yesterday at one spot in numbers
of course some will say it aint so ....but to be sure it is what it is
