    Default HARD water ?

    The melt is on ,but by golly the river froze up , weatherford froze up , lake worth froze up and even my little bluegill pond and my little creek looked like a skating rinks .....
    i bet the spawn will not happen this month after all .....

    The crappie in Joe Pool certainly don't care much for the 40 water temperatures. No one had caught anything in the slips when I arrived there at noon.

    So although it was extremely windy on the main body of the lake from a South wind I went to the South shore to fish. I found a few in the brush piles on the South shore but not in any numbers nor were they biting. I only caught one crappie in 6 hours of fishing It was 12 " .

    It was the first time I have ever seen the river freeze up. It was also the first time I have ever seen 5 " of snow at my house. Hope it never happens again.
