    Default FORK !

not huge numbers right now , fish are scattered ,,,,,but they are large
holding really deep in deep water 35 to 40 ....
fish over 3 are hitting the boat decks as i type
a guided trip might be a good idea if you dont know the lake
might get you a personal best fish

When do those Fork crappie start moving to the banks? My dad and I used to fish there years ago for bass and got into the Crappie once. And would love to bring him back down before he cant make the trip anymore.

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

Not sure , but I will find out , I imagine around the first of March in a few spots .
On a lake that size some spots might be really early and some rather late .

to big and stumpy .....you would end up hurting your boat ....
if you ever saw it when it filled up ....you wouldnt EVEN want to put your boat in it
we used to hit it when it was just opened .....it was basically just a huge forest with a bit of water in it
and still is only you cant see all the danger below now

Fork was one of my three go-to lakes in the 80's when I could trailer my boat. Once a month I would trailer my boat there and sleep in my van Friday and Saturday nights so I could spend the entire weekend fishing there.

Only lake better than Fork those days was Lake Cleburne.

Any day I'm fishing is a good day, regardless of what I catch.
