    Default West of 35

Any reports out this way? I don’t run into many Crappie guys out this way. I’m North of Abilene First year with a boat. I’ve covered a lot of ground on Miller’s Creek, Fort Phantom, Lake Stamford, Hubbard Creek. Learning each time out, and have found each of them productive crappie lakes. Was on fire in December but lately sparse or miss in my usual spots. For me besides Stamford and Phantom everything is over an hour so don’t mind putting in the miles and making a weekend out of it. Grew up right on Ray Robert’s and spent hours out at Texoma and Lewisville. Son finally talked me into a boat, and we spend a lot of time out on the water. Lots of lakes I haven’t been this side of 35. Anyone have a favorite out here? I’ve heard of some good fishing at Bridgeport and Leon. Wondering if there is a lake in particular a crappie fisherman needs to try.

Amon G Carter, north of Bridgeport is an excellent crappie lake. Im in Wichita Falls, so i fish all the usual spots around here. Kickapoo, and Arrowhead both have excellent populations of Crappie.
