Default 4 lb vs 6 lb Vertical Jigging

Friends, What lb test are you fishing with? If 6 lb or higher what jig weight do you typically use?

Currently double jigging with 4 lb test, but some of the fish Iíve hauled in do have me wondering if I would be better served with 6 lb. I am using palomar knot on top jig and clinch knot on bottom. May go to palomar knot on bottom for better presentation vertical jigging. But I digress... what works for you guys?

    Best,

If double jigging I would definitely go to minimum 6# or higher. I use 8# on my rods I use for that or fishing brush.

What weight jig heads do you like to use friend? I am running 1/16 oz and am curious if double 1/16 (1/8) isnít enough weight for the 6 lb. thoughts?

I use 1/16 mainly. I have used heavier depending on depth/wind, etc... Always use same weight or heavier on the bottom to keep from tangling as bad.

if you are double rigging I would put 1/8th on the bottom then 1/16 or even 1/32 on the top. I think I use 8# or better on my long rod.
    I wanna feel the THUMP!
