Nice. I've only caught a couple of'em myself. Always a nice surprise.

Cool. I had only caught one until this fall. Then I caught 4 off of one tree. Love catching them.

They are a VERY interesting fish. I have a river where about one out of every six has the stripe. Another river that flows into the aforementioned river only produces maybe one out of twenty crappie bearing the stripe.

    They are bizarre!

How big was it? I’ve caught numerous blacknose, but can count on 1 hand how many have been keepers. That is soon gonna change as Navarro Mills has some that are quite large. I’ve caught 3 that were over 12” since November.

i managed a blacknose in lake that has almost zero black crappie in it that was real large at just over 14 inches.
that zero number has slowly risen though and we see black crappie in there pretty frequently lately .
but i have only seen that one with a stripe in there as of yet .

We have quite a few of those racing crappie.
You do immediately notice them, as soon as they hit the boat.
    Congratulations
