Crazy weekend. Was mentoring 10 and 13 yr young men, same ones I worked with on crappie fishing. They are quick to learn. Day one the older shot a juvenile elk that had escaped from the high fence neighbor (who was notified and real proud the young man shot him). Elk was approx 450 pounds. The next morning I am talking/teaching the younger brother while in the stand and he makes a 110 yard shot and downs his first buck, a gorgeous 8 point. Next day I am in the stand with the older brother who downs a large horned big bodied buck, his first. Lots of skinning and breaking down for the ice in coolers but what a blessed weekend.

Now that's some powerful mentoring mojo right there for sure... with meat on the ground to prove it too.
