How deep were they you ask ?
WAY to deep to get a jig out of them yesterday's crappie throats , without a pair of pliers !
I had to go in thru its gills to get the surgical procedure accomplished and the patient DID not survive ....but as often is the case I am just practicing medicine on fish .
I will get back to ya when i get past the practice part

i wondered why that fish was so terribly difficult to subdue when i hooked it
and thought it was a bass the way it fought
made me sad to kill it for sure but it started streaming blood the second it cleared the water
