    Default Skunked

I got skunked on Sam Rayburn today. Dang that stings a bit.
The wind on big water was just too dang much to fish, it had my trolling motor coming clean out of the water on some waves I don't run it shallow.
Boats in every nook and cranny where I tried to go to beat the wind, just couldn't find them today.
I quit on crappie and tried for bass and still had no luck.
The water is down about 15 degrees from it's summer warmest and it was very cool this morning. Has this cool front messed it up for anyone else?

I hear ya. I talked to a guide on RC who said it was tough going. Full moon plus the water Temps turning over mean the crappie are at a very wide range of depths. I do think they will start feeding more aggressively.

You might call Greg Fenn and see what tips he has. He is still posting videos every week on YouTube.

I only managed 6 crappie and 2 bluegill off one of my favorite quick pit stops yesterday myself .
45 minutes there should have yielded 30 or better this time of year .
was it the moon ? or the wind ? or the clouds ? or the lake turning ?
i got not a clue but i can say the bite was slow where i went .
i can say the light east wind on friday and the jacket weather in the late morning was splendid and around lunchtime the bite was OFF the charts in 10 foot of water at one spot we hit.
