almost forgot the killer bees
we have a few dont mess with them
honey bees aint just honey bees here
of course the murder hornets aint here yet
BUT we brung in them tiger skeeters from asia back in the 80z down here and they are thriving and sting about like a bee
and our really famous south american fire ants are about to much fun
you want to see a big man dance , let him stand in a bed for a second or 3 without knowing

Little about where your going, it's fantastic saltwater fishing, Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, etc. It's a different kind of place, but think over all your gonna love it down there! Right next to big time deer hunting too! That bay system fishing is something I really loved so much! The flounder run and gigging them is also great fun!

He already told you about the info on your boat and such, but know this is saltwater and you better flush the heck out of your motor and wash down your boat every time out without fail! That salt will corrode stuff fast!

i was born by the gulf and the first fish i ever managed with a rod and reel were salt water .
salt water will even eat stainless steel and Skip is right about it making short work of things .
and on a side note , when gigging flounder beware of stingrays

Ever since they got rid of all the illegal nets, the bay system is really great fishing! Should be easy to fill your freezer!

he best reads the regulations VERY carefully these days , EVERY darn fish in the ocean has some sort of regulations on size and slots and etc etc etc now to protect them from over ketchn

SO true, thing have changed so much over the years and some not new changes, like snapper, we use to go out 80 miles out of Cameron Louisiana on a 65' steel hull boat called the Sunrise We would leave out about 8:00 PM and start fishing near daylight, lol! Each person had a gunny sack (Burlap bag) to fill as much as they could with snapper and at times some other fish as well. Tell you one thing for sure, it's hard to beat taking the filet with scales still on the filet and maybe marinate it is some Italian dressing with a little cajun seasoning, then take that filet and slap it on the grill for about 20 minutes scale side down. The serve it on the plate just like it is and eat right out of the skin and scales! so many new regs on the Redfish and about everything else and it's really a shame. We use to keep 10 Redfish and when they are say an average of 10 pounds each, that's a lot of redfish to Blacken, lol!

Man I miss getting that fresh snapper with the scales still on!!! Okay I also miss caching the 10 - 12 pound Reds, that was a real kick and use to use 10 pound mono which means you loose about half your hookups due to breaking to the gill plates cutting it, but what fun and long runs you get doing that, lol!

i love salt water for short periods of time , the variables on what might be on the rod is amazing
