    Default HEADS UP !

    The days are getting shorter
The weather is going to cool off this week
The late summer /early fall bite is upon us
    Just a quick fyi
Once the water temps start to drop its going to be ON
and when they drop below about 10 to 15 degrees past the high
the fish will scatter with the bait and it will be a challenge
go get you some KABOOM in the next few weeks before they head off towards the winter haunts
the late fall transition is sometimes a bear to figure out and it isnt that far away .
    tip of the week yawl

I don't mind the hunt. That is part of the fun. It is the extreme hot and extreme cold that I mind.

enter extreme rain, stage right. I got soaked, getting to my car the other night. But we do need the rain, given the lake is around 6' low now.

I’m with EZ, I love the hunt.
The heat I don’t like, but tolerate.
Never gets to cold to go fishing!
8” of rain last week alone.
First year I can remember, my lake is above normal September 1, and hasn’t been below normal pool all summer.

When I was younger I said the same thing about heat and cold. I loved to fish while it was snowing and I've fished for wild rainbow trout when I had to break the ice out of my line guides after every cast. But since I passed 70 I've become less tolerant of the extremes of weather. I still don't mind fishing in a moderate rain but when it starts coming down in buckets I want to be inside watching it rain, not outside taking a bath with my clothes on.

Yes I use to dip my rod in the water here to get the ice off the guides too! I use to go to school with a short sleeve shirts when it was like 40 out and play freeze out with outer guys in the car in winter. We would drive with the windows down until someone couldn't take it any longer, lol!

Now here i am some 50 years later and let me tell you my knees are the first to know it's getting cooler and the pain is the sign of a cold front coming. Also I use to like my AC set low, now I like it just fine at 74 (use to think that hot and uncomfortable) and in winter I set my heater at night at 68, but under covers, lol! Just saying things change and some of mine may be the blood thinners I have been on now 20 years and know my thin blood is not helping as much as it use to, but also this old many thin skin is also part of the problem.

Anyway you younger pups just keep in mind, thing will change for you too so anything you can do now to help your health later, maybe should think about doing it or them?

Oh I am 72, knew shot, right shoulder is shot, left is not great, hands are a mess with arthritis and carpal tunnel, have plated and screws in lower back at age 41, had 5 bypass surgery 20 years ago. Think about your future and try to help yourself from becoming like me!

Just an FYI, even knowing we are probably quite different in health matters, but will tell you some where around that 65 I noticed a significant change was about the air as just a tip off enough to think, this may be the time I start to slow down. Thinking I could actually see it coming and you know what, I was right, lol!
