I wish there were some docks near me with water deep enough to keep them under! Most here are not deep enough for this time of year. Some are lucky and have deep water, just most within a few miles by water are just not deep enough.

Nice post. Yes, sure are a lot of people posting how to videos these days. I'm lucky if I remember to snap a few pics here and there. Caught this dandy at Amon G a few days ago. Along with dozens and dozens of others that didn't make the camera roll.its dock season for sureits dock season for sureits dock season for sureits dock season for sureName: 20200612_121304.jpeg

you might be surprised my friend ,i have found them in the summer under docks that were rather shallow . the fish in the photo came from under one that is about 7 or 8 foot deep water and we found them before at that lake in 4 to 5 foot of water under docks in the heat of the summer . blacks and whites

Amon G is a great crappie lake , i do know when i used to hit it back when the fish on the old side ran on the just there side in large numbers . i remember a day when i was at a limit on consecutive pitches 25 for 25 .
did you ever read the kreel count surveys on that lake ? i imagine it is a really off number since we all know them crappie houses aint in the count program . but i saw a head count 55,000 on the old side in a year on the boats leaving the lake

The last survey I looked at from tp&w didn't offer a lot of information. It was from 2016,and said the catch rate was good.

I only fish the old side. Too many trees to pick through on the new side its dock season for sureits dock season for sure . Plus the old side stays a little more stained. Less spooky fish. I've got some underwater treasures marked on the old graph that I like to hit. There are plenty fish to be had on the emergent trees, but they can get hammered pretty hard.

the new side is so different than the old side ,the water looks like aquarium water and the fish stay DEEP day and night from what we saw .
I do know the blackies on the clear side are about ridiculous pretty fish .
i got a guide bud that hits the dirty water side up on the old timber on that side all the time and he sets lots of brush up in that area as well .
he comes back with a cooler full every visit .
maybe someday in the future i will find time to go play there again , its been years since i hit it .

Guess I will need to go see, just hope some have a little HYdrilla around them, out Hydrilla all got killed last year when they dropped the lake to fix the spillway and that is what all fish here relate to so what is usually great fishing areas had none. Just have to go see now about these docks. Question for you, is time of day and more important fishing under docks?

you know skip quite often midday bright sunshine , but then again early and late when they get the feed bag on and start to move in or out from under them as well , and of course night time if they have a light on regularly as well . its a bit of a crap shoot .
some of the docks i hit have a great bite the first 2 or 3 hours in the morning .

every lake is different as to when they will bite under docks or elsewhere. in one of my home lakes middle of day is best for some reason and early and late don't do much. go figure. go wet a line at differnt times and figure out there pattern. IF hydrilla isn't there should make docks even more appealing to them
