    Default When the water rises

due to recent rains some lakes are really getting full and the crappie are on the move .
so if you dont find them in your traditional spots in the summer ,you might look a bit shallower rather than deeper .
i was pleasantly surprised to find them in pre spawn/spawn depths on my last outing .
the 6 to 7 foot of water to about 10 fow was loaded up with fish .
    just a this weeks tip

Rain make the water more stained which should let less light into the water so maybe that is part of the reason they go back more shallow after a rain. Or could be just chasing the shad to the less deep water too.

During or just after rain you can find plenty of crappie super shallow...... They will often be over deep water and as shallow as 3' below the surface......Did you know fishn in the rain is fun? Even if you're ole......

I sure remember fishing in the rain a lot when I was young. Some of the best fishing was in the rain, both crappie and bass and remember is spring when it was raining we could take a Gold Rogue in one of the creeks here that was full of trees and you could wear your arms out catching bass! Something about a nice light rain and that bait in spring!

I also remember as a really young kid fishing at the local country club on the bridge crossing the lake fishing by some large Cypress trees that were right next to that bridge bear the middle and they always were there, but also when he rain hit they seemed to get going really well!

Also remember lot of night fishing trips we had storms around us all night with lightening and thunder constant, but it never rained on us that one night that is was so bad and we should have never been out in that for sure. Now I am not fishing when it storming like that! Think we were just stupid and lucky that one night, but we had a bet with two other guys in a different boat. Oh an yes we won, I don't think they caught a single fish that night, lol!
