    Default Summer time ) =

The recreation folks are out in great numbers
sure is sad sometimes to try to ketch a fish
    the boaters are often rude
the jet skis are way worse
    and the list goes on
i hit a spot i like and there were herds of campers
tied to the fishing dock was a minnow bucket and a fish basket
inside the fish basket were 6 or 8 pretty nice crappie
4 or 5 were dead and the others were barely moving
some were so pale they looked dead a few days
besides being unlawful , that really upsets me
    rant over

Yep. Its hard to swallow them words sometimes. People swimming in the boat ramp lanes and overcrowding the docks is getting worse too.

it goes without saying a crappie is dead fast when kept close to the surface this time of year .
ice chest or pitch them back please , a pale white soft crappie aint an edible fish
i am pretty sure "most" summer crappie anglers know this
but i still see photos of live wells full of pale washed out dead crappie everyday on the assorted fishing forums i visit

clean em quickly, put them on ice or let them go right away. totally agree. Lake lice are out in force but you can usually find a quiet spot to get some fishing in.

Man summer for me is time for an ice chest, no need to try and keep them living in this heat! Just keep ice on them! Nuff said!

I see fish in live wells that look very similar to the way you said those looked...... Crappie are for sure not hot water creatures and if locked up will die in a very short period of time......
It's definitely ice time of year if you're gonna keep'um......
