Default FISHING IN JANUARY is a little slow, but still catching big ones!

I had the opportunity to fish with a new friend, Randy Smith and we hit on some slabs. It was slow, but we had a great time and pulled in about 27 nice ones. These fish are spread out all over the lake and not clumped together like normal. Seeing them deep and shallow right now.

Really? I had no idea that lake had crappie. I fished it last October for the first time. I am in that area several times a year. I founded an organization called Lone Star Warriors Outdoors and every December we had a hunt where we bring combat injured warriors in from all over the country to hunt. My friend Ian Rook (Dpty with Tom Green Sheriff Office) was given a new house so I came up for that and took my boat and did some bass fishing. The lake looked great, but I had no idea there were crappie there. Would love to get with you on that as I want to go again this year. I hope the lake is staying up and filling up. So much brush on the banks because it has been so low for 20 years.

Send me a PM with your info. I sure will. Small chance I will be there this month or next month. Would love to see what it holds. I think my permit is still good, not sure.
