Anybody live close to Princeton? Be in our house next month and was wondering how the crappie fishing is on the lake over there. Gonna be hard being away from the big 4 in MS.

Lavon is one of the better crappie lakes in north Texas for numbers and size . You might have to adjust the way you fish though as not many folks push or pull or troll here . Lots of fish in the 2 lb range there from what I know .
most vertical fish and few spider rig as well . keep us posted , we don't get many reports from that lake .

Cool deal. Yep I've mostly spider rigged in Ms so I'll have to get my single pole skills going.

Princeton is a rocks throw from Lavon. Lavon is a very good crappie lake and it is not a huge lake so learning it will not be very difficult. I don't think I have ever seen anyone spider rigging on Lavon. I'm sure it will work during the winter if you do it around the dam. Lake of the Pines and Fork are crappie mecca's and they are not that far away. Most of the crappie fishing here is single pole so get ready for the adjustment. Welcome to Tejas.
