a local I know that's always thirsty for knowledge on crappie and how to ketch them texted me the other day .
wanted to give me some deer meat and I nicely declined as my freezer cant hold anything else .
said he went to a crappie seminar and all they talked about was livescope .
said he didn't learn a thing and don't even own a boat .
asked me if he could tag along with me soon .
said I was the best crappie bank angler he knew of .
wasn't that sweet ? I don't by any means think I am the best off the bank .
but to be sure I use my feet often .
was flattered though to hear him say that for sure .
one thing for certain many a crappie will be had along the banks and docks in the very near future by everyone with or without experience on bank angling for crappie .
in the end we are all just pitching jigs no matter at what level and or with what tools .
so if you happen upon some person asking questions young or old and you want to feel a little better than you did before that moment in time .
give them some information and maybe a jig or 2 or even a few fish for dinner .
I would and so would my close friends .

I go out on bass rigs with buddies and ketchm that way but most of my fishing is off my pontoon, shore or docks. Lots of ways to go ketchn that don't involve all the time wasted fooling with a boat. I and captncrappie fish off bank a lot and ketch more crappie than most folks I know of. Lots of them are smaller but we have the grandkids along and have a ball in doing so. but lots of them are eating size as well.

I don't get why these seminars are focusing on livescope or technology in general as that caters to a smaller audience of boat dudes. Hey Outlaw you should go to regional cities and do seminars on how to ketchm off of docks, shore and how to find local creeks or ponds that would hold speckled beauties. I would pay to go to one.

the thought crossed my mind to concentrate on those that don't own boats for tips and ways to outsmart crappie .
the audience would likely be heavy and some would be boat owners as well is my thoughts .

It’s not a bad idea to try really. I see guys trying to pitch jigs and let em pendulum like they’ve probably seen on YouTube, but they don’t realize the bait has to swing back at the right depth or they don’t know how to get it there. Or over there shaking it like they’re swatting at flies. I try to help but I just get a lot of the “Yeah, yeah, I know what I’m doing” stuff. I try to learn and listen and ask no matter how much I think I know. With fish and other things. So I’d attend something like that too. Never hurts

Most of what a bank angler does can be applied to boat angling .
The main difference is mobility and proximity .
