    Default My New Toy!!!

Well I finally bit the bullet and bought a new MEGA SI/DI Humminbird Helix 12! WHOOHOO. I have one on the console now, but it is used and a G2N so I went new and installing in a few hours the G3N. I am moving the old one to the front to replace my Helix 7 that came with the boat. As I am getting older I realize to see what I am doing requires a bigger screen. haha. Both a networked so it should be fun. I just have to get all my points off the 7 and update to the new one, then I will be golden, Well until I find the next thing to spend money on. haha.

Well it took me 5 hours to install. LOL 4 hours to move the old one to the front and reconstruct a system to hold a second graph. That was hard. Putting the new one in took only 1 hour and that is because I had to take the mount off the console and the side console (where my throttle is) to get to the cables. I tied a string around it and pulled it out, then tied the string around the second and pulled it back through, put the mount back on hooked it up and went to the lake. I could see the color of the fish's eyes. It is that clear. WOW is all I can say. It is amazing. The networking required nothing but plugging it in, so what I see in the back is what I see in the front now. I am in love with this graph.

Simply put I love it. I can see plankton in the trees. LOL Took it to Reelfoot lake in TN last week and it was simply amazing seeing what was down there. Much better than my Lowrance Hook 7. I am ok with the money spent, well until I pay the credit card bill.. haha

Congrats on the new toy upgrade. I know you are excited to have that new and powerful weapon in your arsenal that I know you'll make the most of. I have a similar setup going on my new boat with the Minn Kota 80lb Ultrex with Mega 360 networked with two MEGA SI/DI Helix 10's with all of the bells and whistles. I just learned last week that my boat build was postponed three weeks putting delivery somewhere mid February instead of around my birthday the third week of January as was the original ETA.
I was totally bummed out when I heard that... but believe me I am prepared for it to go longer than that... since I am a total advocate of Murphy's Law: "Whatever can go wrong will go wrong."
Even at the age of 63, and after nearly five years of being land locked, since selling my previous boat; I find that I'm still very much like a kid lookin' forward to Christmas morning waitin' on that day.

Ah that is a hard thing to deal with, but eventually it will come. I am not a fan of that feeling of knowing it is in my grasp, or so I think but only inches away. That will be a good setup. congrats.
