You timed it right. This afternoon was not as good as yesterday. Smaller size, few keepers, not near as many crappie caught. Your honey spot of yesterday did not give up a single bite, let along a crappie. But the other side of the slip had a few small ones willing to put up a fight.

sounds like we took all the water out of the well by golly

Can't fish again until Sunday. I'm sure the well be full and restocked by then, if it hasn't been raided by poachers before I get there.

In the past it has not bothered me that people fish there when I am not there. But after finding the two undersized crappie in my basket Sunday I have finally decided today I am going to close off the one entrance and put a combo lock on the entrance with the gate. Then I will give the combination to my friends. I just don't want to risk having that happen again and have the game warden find them during one of their periodic visits to the slips.

I don't want to pay the fine nor have my reputation tarnished this way.

yeah I wouldn't want to have to rub no polish on ya to shine you back up for sure . even as a friend I aint gunna be the one to polish off your tarnish bro
and even if we take up a collection to pay the fine it still aint fine
