    Default Ghost crappie

Found a nice little place on Pat cleburne lake produced several nice crappie but this weekends return trip was non existent. Every place I thought the crappie may be ended up being a ghost town. Will work on getting back on them soon.

In the eighties Pat Cleburne Lake was an outstanding crappie lake. My wife and I fished there on weekends and always come home with limits of 12" and larger crappie.

I haven't fished it since I returned to Texas in 2007. I went there to check it out and was told by a game warden that it wasn't safe for fishing boats to be on the lake anymore. He stated there were too many of the large cigar boats running up and down the lake at speed, which had resulted in fishing boats being ran over and fishermen killed.

I haven't been back there since then. Hopefully that situation has changed by now.

Joe Pool docks are still hit and miss, mostly miss. One day they loaded and then the next few days it's had to find a few small ones. But it's getting to that time of year when it should get better everywhere as they start to move into the slips and off the spawning areas.

At least you got on some once. I’ve went out to Byron once and had no luck at all. Ghost water, like you said. I Was going to get over to a spot on west side of the dam near the outlet but I called it a day. It can produce at times
