A friend of mine has been waiting on the Lowrance to be released. He said he is tired of waiting and may go Garmin.
In my opinion with all the info and videos on Garmin LS I think it may be hard for the others to catch up. Lowrance has no info or videos on the net except one or two but they don't let you see any specifics. I hope it is as good. Can you imagine the bass anglers in tournaments able to see the bass to land?! It's a game changer and will be the norm for many anglers.
I hear people complain that it's "cheating" but as an angler you have to know where to look to find fish. Livescope just makes it easier for you to tell if you want to spend all day in one spot and catch nothing or move to where you can see them and continuously catch. Everyone has their preference. I have mine now!

OK. looking into this still. For anyone that has it, how do you find which graphs work with this transducer. If I am going to do this I want a little bigger than a 9in screen. The way I look at it is "Cry Once", meaning I do not want to spend money on something like a graph and not be happy only to spend more money to upgrade it. I have been researching on the internet all night while I could not sleep and quite honestly I am more confused now than when I started. Doing this means that I have to get rid of my Lowrance as the trolling motor already has a transducer built in, then the Lowrance has one on the other end. I do not think that I can put all three on there. LOL They all have things I would want but I think one has to go. Anyway, any help is appreciated and I am lost. I feel like a 6th grader in a college graduate course.

Look up Youtube videos on the Garmin livescope. Many are using more than one sonar. The GPS store has all the models at a good price. Call them and talk to them. They have a website.

I just want to say that the livescope is a good tool to help you. I knew EVERYTHING about crappie before I bought it. It does not help you find them if you don't know where to look. Anyone that buys one is simply upping their game to catch more when they go out. It does help you see where the crappie are so you catch some big slabs!

Thanks SlabSlider. Unfortunately I went into the store today to buy a mount to put my Lowrance system as a secondary at the console as the graph that comes with the boat does not have down or side imageing. Well the stupid sales man made me walk out with the mount, the Livescope tranducer and the Garmin 1022. Yep, I bought one. Opened the box tonight to install it and realized I am over my head, so I boxed it back up and after the morning fishing will take it to the shop to have it installed. LOL I agree, it is a tool, but one that looks pretty awesome!!!!

You are gonna love the 1022. I had the 9" and loved it until I fished in my buddies boat with the 1022 and ordered one the next day. Resolution on 1022 is way better and much easier to see jig right in front of crappie's face. The last few trips have been crazy good all thanks to the livescope . Finding and catching fish places never could have done so before .

I agree, it is revenge. I have lost so many big fish in the last 2 trips that I need to get REVENGE. I was pumped when I walked in and they had one left. After I signed that credit card slip and got in my truck I thought about it and said "What the hell did I just do?" This morning after seeing it live I was ok with my purchase. The only problem is after seeing his iPilot motor I want one now. $2300.00 installed. That plus the livescope I cannot even imagine how many fish I have to catch and eat to pay it off!
