Saw three like that yesterday afternoon. They were hanging over a brush pile 10' deep in 20' of water before I caught them. Every time I decide the spawn is probably over I pull up crappie looking like this.

It was a fun 2 hours, even through the crappie were all small. Only had 2 keepers out of over 40 crappie caught. But it was fun catching those 40 crappie.

Same thing happened earlier in the day at the slips. Caught large numbers of small crappie, very few keepers. A few were dark but none as dark as this one.
