Default I’m heading to Lake Fork late next week. What can I expect?

My wife and I are headed to Lake Fork next week for a few days. I haven’t been in about 18 years and I’m excited. I’m fishing for Bass but I wouldn’t mind getting into some slab crappie if they are biting? Any advice for me? If they are biting good I’m definitely going to pack my crappie gear.

This probably isn’t much help, but we caught em shallow on grass and sticks 3-6’, out to 15’ + on the big timber with a lot of limbs/branches in the same day around this time of year. Water was probably a tad warmer though. Cajun cricket and electric chicken were the winning colors shallow. Deeper was a grind going from that kind of tree to another and swapping colors. I’ve only fished it twice and wouldn’t point you in a direction as we got crappie skunked in the same areas a year later. Hopefully someone else will throw you something better. Good luck

I definitely think I’m going to take my crappie stuff. I cant help but think they will be moving shallow.

Man we’re doing the same thing. Going down Tuesday the 19th and staying thru Sunday. The weather and the moon look right so hopefully the bass and crappie will be biting. Haven’t seen any kind of report for several days though. We try to go every year at this time and really with all the cold fronts, rain and temps it’s a shot in the dark until steady weather.
