Arlington ain't much of a winter crappie lake best I can tell you....might go east some ....tawakoni maybe ?
My son and I are new to crappie fishing. About 3 months now. Having a hard time and would like suggestions. Lake Arlington is where we fish most. We manage to get one or two each time but are having a hard time finding schools. Have a boat w/ Lowrance hook2 7 triple shot.

Thanks, I’ve been thinking about changing but Tawakoni may be a little rough for my small boat.
Welcome, I am new to crappie fishing as well. I live on Lake Tawakoni and am learning the lake as well. If you ever want to venture out shot me a message maybe we can learn together.
I’d love to go to Tawakoni it’s just too big for my boat. We tried Ray Robers a couple of times and if the wind blows we really get tossed around. I only have a 15’ flat bottom. It’s an 82 Bass tracker so it’s pretty unstable. I think for me I should stay on lakes 7000 acres or less.
So I’ve decided to change lakes. Any suggestions for DFW area? I guess I’m open to
Larger lakes as long as there’s a boat ramp close to good fishing. We have a small boat so we want to try to stay away from having to cut across the main part of the lake.
Just fish the 2 mile bridge at Tawakoni. I have a little 10ft Pelican and I fish 2 mile all the time. Heck you don't even have to fire up the big motor. Trolling motor only is fine. There is a ramp at the foot of each end of the bridge.
So Tawakoni is the place? If you’re good with a 10’ boat I guess we’ll be okay. Thank you
