mineral wells state park is a fun spot to ketch crappie yawl . if you or someone you know wants to ketch crappie its a great lake for lots and lots of bites . larger fish are not easy to find lots of times in any numbers ,but to be sure there is a load of crappie in there to beat the band .
take a kid or the wife and go ketcha few for grins ...no fishing lic. required either at the park so it helps with the they don't or wont ever fish often enough to buy one.
lots of fishing docks and most have condos around them if you don't have a boat as well .
good numbers of small bluegill to if the crappie don't cooperate .
try bright colors and use scent on the jigs and go whack a few
lots of deer there and some resident Canadian geese live there as well ….
pretty fun spot and a nice swimming beach to boot ….
camping is also good there and the restrooms have hot showers in them as well .
and there are a few flathead catfish that get ketched pretty often by crappie anglers as a change of pace along the way .
the state parks could use your dimes so toss a few at them .
