yes sir I see very small bait shallow early in numbers and not much as the sun gets higher .
I bet the fish move deep and that's where the larger bait is later in the day .
or at least that sounds kinda true sorta ...right ? ....LOL

That be what I have talked about lately and even smaller fry in the belly of some crappie. Have read how at times they will be plum full of way smaller that even this. So my plan for next year in summer is to go to a very short light jig and try that, maybe even at night?

Hey Ketchn I have been thinking back to right after I moved up here and what I was using. I kind of lost that thinking once I started tying and then once I got my deal with Blakemoore on the Roadrunner heads, I never looked back again until about 2 years ago. One day I remembered one jig especially that I was using and by then they had quit making them, but I still have a bunch so intend on trying them out next spring. Blue Fox use them make these little jigs in several colors and I still have some 1/32 ands 1/16. I used them long line trolling and these are very short jigs, but I remember catching big crappie on them. Let me find my picture of them to post here.

What do you think and do you remember these little jig? I still would love to know exactly what material the tail is. Also I believe there is a 1/16 Oz head #4 hook in the picture just for size, but I don't remember since I took this picture a good while back.
