Tennessee trip and honey do's when I got back kept me off the lake for a couple of weeks. Dragging a bit I didn't hit it till 8:30am. It was supposed to be sunny and hot but turned out to be overcast a bit, warm but enjoyable - temperature wise. Started to scan some ledges to test out my lesson from Pumpman and try some trolling. Found a good ledge and was marking it for a run when another buddy called me and said they got there early and was picking some off stumps in about 16 ft. I'm a sucker for stump fishing so I hooked up with him and caught probably 10 chunkers and 12 nice keepers. A half a gallon of fillets. Surface water temp showed 89-90. They were fickle and what worked for me was to pull out 15 ft of line, flip past the stump and when I felt a bite I'd kind of slow pull the jig untill it felt solid then give him a wrist snap. I call it walking the dog. Seemed they wouldn't thump on a vertical drop and if you felt any tick at all on the line you'd better give it a quick pop. Bite stopped around 1. Saving my trolling for another day. Sure felt good to be in "The Office". (The name of my boat)

Very nice catches and I'm with you on preferring vertical over trolling....
Good post and catch.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.
