Sorry for the delay in response. I don't know if I have mentioned it by I fish out of a Hobie PA12, so I'm at the mercy of what ever mother nature has for me. Didn't even get to the water until 11:00. The wind was fairly high early so I took the long way to the lake. Did manage a couple of dinks and one keeper but didn't get any pics. The guys two pilings down said they were catching them after 6 pm so the timing seemed right. Then the drunks in the cajun showed up coming in at a high trolling speed proceeding the tidal wave wake they were leaving. I could here them talking before they got there commenting on my kayak. I got untied and headed into the wake just in time to keep from getting swamped. Got back to where I had been tied up and started fishing and then the radio came on. It was pretty loud. It was also quite comical to see 2 drunk rednecks in their 40's listening to early pop and having to yell at each other from 16' apart because the music was so loud. One of them kept talking about how fast those hobie kayaks are and how they had speed tested them against other paddle types. Afraid that my laughter might be heard over their voice and the radio, I untied and showed them just how fast 4 mph really is. Good thing the truck was really close because 4 mph is pretty tough to maintain for a long distance. So, got there late, no fish or pics to show. But the story is a pretty good one. I guess if you look for the good in a situation, this was a good trip.

Good report. Any boaters that fish close to me in my kayak will get an earful when the lake is so big! Sorry for the bad karma.

Thanks Ketchn. Sorry for the late response. I've been in San Francisco for a week at a conference. I have fished that corp pile before but it was out of a boat. The wind was coming down the lake that day and I was in the hobie. That is usually the end of the lake I fish. There are a couple of cuts off the points headed towards the dam that have some pretty nice piles on them too. Going to head back in a couple of weeks and get there early. The first time I fished there we had to use 1 oz weights to get our minners down below the little bass. You could easily go through 6 to 8 dzn a day. That's been a while ago
