pines is still about 8 foot high, I have not crappie fished since last year in December so not much help. What few I hear of come from brush piles and piers, with water high hard to find stumps with brush unless ya have one those super-duper fish finder TV things. Sorry all I have.

I would probably start around the bridges...alley creek, Johnson or hurricane and from there head back into the creeks and fish the willows.
You think I like to duck hunt? I love to crappie fish!

just a suggestion ......you might want to try some of the less than legendary small local lakes around there .....
might be lots easier to get on some fish and some of them have good reputations for production ....just a thought
