Mighty fine catches. I need to get work settled down so I can go get after them
I took my son in law crappie fishing this morning for about 3 hours maybe a little longer and we had a fair morning catching crappie and bass. We fished on the lower end of Chickamauga lake and found some fish on a deep roadbed.
I knew that bluegrass Bobby garland baby Shads were the hot color now and I had Scottie fish that exclusively while I changed colors and profiles to see if the crappie would bite something else. Short story is that today they wanted bluegrass and would not bite anything. I caught the first fish, a 12” fat crappie on the bluegrass before I started changing colors.
Scottie ended up catching the most crappie, the biggest crappie and the biggest LM bass while I caught 2 more keeper bass and one yellow bass. I ended up catching my bass on Green Lantern.
Lake temp was 81.9 and very gentle south wind and TVA running 13,900 cfs. This particular spot that we caught our fish on I found last summer and have only fished it a limited number of times. I’m still learning a lot about this part of the lake. We had good fish today with 3 over 12” and no short fish today.
I am including a screen shot of a big tree that I found yesterday in another part of the lake. We caught 11 keeper crappie off of it in 2 days of fishing.
