    Default Douglas Lake - Intruder

    Hey TN Forum,

    Greetings from North Carolina!

Intruder might be a strong word but will be making my way through the mountains next week with boat in tow, staying on Douglas for the week as it's my girl's spring break (10yo, 5 yo and 8 mo). Home base will be in Flat Creek and launching out of "Douglas Headwater" just above the dam. I prefer to hunt on my own, so not looking for anything close to specific spots, just curious what stage the lower end of the lake is in if any locals want to chime in. I suspect mid-prespawn and if that's the case, I should be able to find a few.

Looking at my maps, I can probably spend the entire week in Flat Creek.......will have two older ones with me quite a bit so if you see a black Ranger 1880 with a bunch of blonde hair flying around, holler at me!

    Take care,

    U

There is a bunch of vrbo in flat creek an all of them are nice
Some of them you will need your hiking shoes to get to the dock water is still way down from winter draw down
Flat creek acess could be a couple different places everyone calls them something different but most of them are still not usable yet
I have a place about half way back in flat creek an the ramp there is just now getting close to being able to use
Crappie fishing is probably the worst iv ever seen
I sent you a pm with my phone number give me a call an ill try to help you out if i can

Thank you, Sir. PM well received.

I suspect we're in one of those requiring a "hike" to the dock, based on the description of the house. I'm not planning on docking my boat anyway but instead, trailering and launching at the dam each day whenever I decide to get out. Is the "problem" fish population, locating them or a little bit of everything? Not afraid of getting out on the main lake either.
