Awesome. Great livewell shot
The past 3 Sundays have been very good for Dr Phillip, and friends. We have been launching the boat before daylight (5:30) and stopping at 9 am before it gets too hot. We have had 15, 17, 16 keepers the past 3 weeks.
I didn’t have any crappie at home so I kept our fish today along with a 5-6 pound Blue catfish. We threw back spotted bass and white bass and 5 short crappie. Longest crappie was 13.25”.
We fished deep water structure and just off the main river channel today. We caught fish on the 3 spots that we tried today. On our first spot, we saw the fish on the graph, but they would not bite. We fooled with them about 15 minutes and decided to change our position so that our presentation would be different. The same fish that would not bite at first, were bananas when we changed position. We had 13 of our keepers then before the sun came up.
One thing that I have stressed during teaching sessions and things that I have written, is the importance of proper boat position in relation to wind and water currents. Today was a classic example of this. You can have fish located but if your presentation isn’t correct, you will rarely get a bite. I don’t have Livescope nor will I ever have it. I’m too old school to mess with it. Grin.
Awesome. Great livewell shot
