Congrats on getting the skunk out of the boat. Stinking little critter took up permanent residence in my boat this summer
First off thanks for the challenge for us TN people to post.
Went to KY Lake on Friday 9-23 to start my fall crappie fishing. Only the second trip this year there for me, one in April. Started at my go to spot that has always produced some for over thirty years. Not a bite, not much showing on the electronics. Fished around the area and saw no one else catching. Moved to another area a few miles away and same story. At the ramp talked to one guy who had 12 , but had been doing a-lot better than that in the previous three weeks. Talked to others that were like me. Nothing. So i went home skunked and thinking I had forgotten how. Beautiful day though.
I decided yesterday that I would try today since weather was to be great, but getting really hot in the afternoon. Since I thought I would only fish till lunchtime, I decided to try a TWRA lake that I fish mostly for bluegill and occasionally for crappie. I haven’t caught many there in several years and didn’t really expect much.
Going to really concentrate and see if I could still catch a crappie. Started out spidering and gave them an assortment of jigs and some minnows. Started picking up a few that were close to the size limit , but just shy. Finally got one over the ten inch mark. Aw getting rid of that skunk smell.
I wound up catching 51 crappie , with most between 8-9 7/8 inches. Had nine nice keepers with losing three more keeper size because I didn’t grab the net and no telling how many bites I missed.
Nice to get that taken care. Also looking forward to those 9 inchers growing and falling for my baits later.LOL
I am thinking about going back out here in the morning to make sure that skunk is dead.LOL

'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6
That will makes for some good eating
