Default Vacation TARP crappie for Cuonthelake. 7/17/21

All that Candi has talked about for the last 2-3 weeks was catching a TARP sized crappie on her vacation, and she started vacation yesterday, so I got her out at the crack of dawn(or before), and put her on a big fish hole.

However it looked like DK was going to do all the catching early as I had a big fish break 4 lb test fluorocarbon line and then had two keepers flip off before we could get the net under them. Then I caught 3 big crappie and started rubbing it in on Candi. Big mistake. Don’t poke a bear at rest.

She was trying 2-3 different colors trying to get a bite and I finally convinced her to get the color out of my box that the fish were wanting and told her the technique to provoke a bite.

Long story short, she then proceeded to catch a 14” tarp size black crappie and 2 crappie that we measured at 13.5”. She finally caught up with me at 4 keepers each and then it was back and forth until we were tied at 7 keepers each. I told her that the next keeper would give us a limit and would end the competition. I told her that I had one secret left and then I caught the tie breaker in an unusual fashion. Enjoy her pic with the fish and what she thought of the competition. I loved every minute of our 2 hour and 20 minute trip today. Lots of pics.

How do you repay your guide…a blackberry cobbler is currently in the oven!
I don’t think the tie breaker ended fairly! Dk said, I got one trick Up my sleeve I’ve never shown you an with that he caught that last slab in the shoulder! I’m not gonna argue with him! However I did catch the biggest fish!
    Everything lined up perfectly today!
Thanks again DK, I’m sure since we didn’t get Mrs. Wanda a bass she won’t mind once she gets a bowl of cobbler!Name: IMG_2104.jpg

The cobbler was as good as the fishing. We enjoyed it very much. Thank you, Candi.

Fun day on the water, congratulations to Candi on her success. The looks on your faces say it all about the cobbler.
