You shoot that dock with a small brown or tan grub ??
All I found was floating mats and swarms of Mayflies today. They were thick on the water also. The fish have certainly been eating well

Yes. Had a few bluegill peck at it. There were several hundred all over the boat when I took off to head home.

I came up on what looked like a mat of grass floating at first light. Ended up being a 20' by 30' area of mayflies. I have never seen them on the water that thick

Have you seen any Junebugs ?? I haven't seen more than 2 or 3 in the last few years. And just saw my first & only Japanese Beetle in probably 15-20yrs.
Now, Mayfly's .... I usually see several of them about every time I'm at a lake, from May til late July (sometimes). I've just never seen hoards of them like that.
And I haven't seen or heard any Cicada's around here, either.
Zero Cicadas around here either CP.
Seen a few June bugs but they are no bigger than your little fingernail.
I caught June Bugs as a kid. Mother would give me a piece of thread about three foot long to tie on the rear leg. Fly those dudes like an airplane around in circles.

Japanese beetles are working the okra over in the garden. Haven't seen any junebugs lately. Usually went the mayflies are running heavy you see them swarmed around the sevice station lights. Water was about 3 degrees cooler where I found them then it was where I launched at.
