I fished with Cuonthelake both days and they were short trips and the title doesn’t have anything to do with the weather. I think it had to do with the short feeding spree both days.
Candi beat me like a bass drum on the 28th and sort of rubbed it in a little. I had my revenge today, although she caught a keeper on the fist cast while I was positioning the boat. Almost unfair. Grin.
But I caught the most keepers and the biggest fish, 13.25” Black Crappie. After the bite slowed, I wanted to check other places and Candi grudgingly agreed, but really wanted to stay on these fish. We found another school on offshore structure, but they were all juveniles without a caretaker.
Later on at another offshore structure, the spotted bass schooled about 15 feet in front of the boat and I had a small spot make the biggest mistake of his life. I flipped my jig into the melee and saw him grab the lure.
Pics will be from both days of fishing.

I have to confess DK, nothing tickles me more to pitch that jig out before you can get the boat on spot lock an catch a fish to then hear you say...” why don’t you just show out...”. Big grin
Good Times, thanks for the quick trips an always putting us on fish!
I still haven’t comprehended The lesson ...why we leave biting fish to go find more fish.
Hope Mrs. Wanda enjoys the bass!
Lets go again real soon.
