I would have just snipped the end and barb off and pulled it out. Think that's bad. Once I caught a bream on a crank bait that had 2 treble hooks. While I was trying to get get the fish off it flopped out of my hand and the other treble hook went right into my thumb with that fish flopping around. I had to go to the eir on that one after trying to get it out myself. Doctor placed a small string on it and was causally talking to me to get my attention diverted and then jerked---popped right out.
