    Default Chick 18 Jan

Got out on Chickamagua for a few hours this morning. We ended up with 6 keeper crappie and 1 keeper bass and a few bluegill. We had lots of short crappie. I am going to guess we had 30-40 short crappie. Didnt keep count but they were fun to catch. We were fishing with 2.3 ester line, 1/24oz litewire jig heads and trout magnets. The color of choice was bulldog, millie, and bison. We fished any where from 10-26 ft of water. Most fish were caught in the 5-10 ft range on a slow retrieve. I was marking fish 6-15 ft deep. Water temp was 45-47 degrees. Great way to spend a day off!
