    Default Not crappie. Jan 05/21

I haven’t crappie fished yet this new year, but have bluegill fished yesterday and Striper fished this morning per Dr Phil’s request.

My first fish of the year was a bluegill that we caught yesterday. See the report in the panfish forum. Today, Phil and I landed 4 Stripers each and I had two more fish pull off after short fights. I think that the last one was a Walleye. It came from an area that we catch Walleye from while we are drift fishing current seams.

I had the big fish that weighed 14.33 lbs and we caught all our fish on Zoom Super Flukes in White Ice and Pearl colors with the tail dipped in chartreuse spike it. We doubled 3 times but I had one pull off while Phil landed his. I had a dull hook and then I noticed that the barb was mashed down. It is laying at the bottom of the river right now. Grin

Surface temp 47.8 and 46,300 flow rate. We had it to ourselves. One other boat up there but it was Walleye fishing and never did get into the current to fish for Stripers. We fished 2 hours.

Yes, Dr Phil’s grill. Stripers are his favorite fish to eat and my second or third favorite. Grin. Limit is two Stripers each. I gave him my two.
