    Default Crappie with Biofisher 10/14/2020

I just love it when a plan comes together and the fish are frisky. Maybe it is the water cooling off finally that has everything getting back to normal or maybe the unction that I follow never steers next wrong. (Most of the time) Grin.

Biofisher is on fall break from his teaching duties at Central High School and we have planned to fish Wednesday through Friday of this week. We had a great morning with the fish biting reasonably well. We landed 14 keepers and several short crappie, but have you ever noticed how hard it is to catch that last fish to complete a limit? We fished hard for the last 30-45 minutes hoping to get that last fish, but only a short fish bit.

There is always tomorrow. We fished vertical structure for the biggest part of the morning, but did try one dock that wasn’t too successful, then an offshore spot that I have caught crappie on in the past, but hadn’t fished in 3-4 years. It paid off with our 3 biggest crappie (13.5”). Gary fished Blue Ice BG exclusively and I fished with Blue Ice BA Pro Tiny, S&P, and tried Limetreuse Ghost, but no takers on that color which was surprising because of the water color.

Water flow was 40,000+ and surface temp was 70 degrees. Fish were deep, twenty feet mostly.

i know, I keep looking for them shallow, but not having much luck yet. All fish today were deep, meaning over 10 feet and between 15-20 feet or slightly more.
