    Default Itís What Temperature?

Weekly evening after work trips are getting few and far between with the shorter days. Two weeks ago, water temps were about 86.

Last Monday they cooled a little to near 83.

Well tonight, just a WEEK later, water temps at the exact same spot were 69.....yep a 14-15 degree drop in 7 days time.

Crazy, I text a buddy of mine and he said itís what temperature? Had to take a pic to prove it. Well with those lower temps, the fish tonight were not deep, and it took about 15 minutes to figure that out with the empty depth finder returns on the deep structure.

So sitting in 12 ft water I pitched up to a small lay down and a 13.5in bruiser White Crappie got freaky all over my BGBS offering and took me for a good drag squealing ride.

Nuts, these are Spring time spots, but the fish were there. 4 more nice ones were home, so letís try to repeat this pattern on some similar structure.

Boat in 12.5ft, pitch and retrieve through the limbs....thump... itís-on again. What fun, I am not a Fall fisherman but I can handle this MO. Anyway with the short days the trip ended too soon with the fading light and 6 ended up making the ride home.

Two big fish were thick and healthy. 13.5 and 12in fish.

Every fish I cleaned was stuffed full of Shad in various stages of digest.

Feeding up for Winter they are, proof is in the pictures it is. Stay safe and get out there if you can, they are munching in the cooling waters!

Was 68 at Walters Bridge Sat 18th @ 7a. The bass is what I fish for mostly and they're shallow too.

Great report, Stan. The Chick is falling 2 degrees per day lately. Fish are getting frisky. Lolol.

Great post and pics! Wow on the temp drop, didn't realize it was happening that quickly. We've been in the 40s over here the last two mornings, I guess that'll do it.

Great catches and info! Fished Tellico Saturday with the East TN Crappie Club and water temps in the low to mid 70’s. Caught lots of fish, but keeper to dink ratio was about 1 out of 5!
