Default Krispy Kreme Krappie with Kandi 9/01/20

I think that I have finally figured out why Cuonthelake has been beating me so badly at crappie fishing the past three trips. She won today 5-0 on keepers, plus she caught a channel catfish but I had to hold it for the pic. She won’t touch the slimy things. It was near 3 pounds in weight and gave her a fit, but she is an expert fisherwoman and after getting a video of her fighting the fish, I did an excellent job of netting it for her. She giggles a lot.

Her secret is to bring me something sweet at the beginning of our trip to distract me from concentrating on the crappie. Anyone who has ever had Krispy Kreme donuts knows exactly what I’m saying. Grin. The last trip it was a homemade lemon cake cause she knows that I am a sucker for any lemon sweet. Before that it was her coconut punch cake that is to die for. It ought to be called sin cake because it makes you a glutton. Grin.

But I have caught on to her tactics now. Even today, she took advantage of me while I was looking for the box of slab slayers but had to stop looking 3 times to net a fish for her. She is merciless. Lolol. Candi can fish deep better that most people that I take fishing. She has learned her lessons well.

Water flow was slow this morning, just over 13,000 and surface temp was 84. Lights Out Slab Slayers was the ticket today fished on 3/32 oz jigs with Litewire hooks and fish were over 20 feet deep. Since I gave all my crappie away earlier, I kept the crappie today to begin a new stockpile.

Lake beginning to drop to winter level starting today. Actually dropped over 1/2 foot yesterday. BTW, if anyone wants to catch tiny crappie which takes great skill, then I’m your man. Lolol.

    Great post and pics.
I live in the city where Krispy Kreme was founded. When I was a kid we used to go to the shop and while my parents had coffee and talked, I would watch them fry, flip and ride the conveyor under the sugar waterfall. The smell was great. I love them, but can't eat them now due to diabetes.

I’ve watched them many times before too. I like to imagine the conveyor belt just dumping them in my mouth.....lol
