We fished BGBS on 1/16 oz. jigs early in the morning and trolled Bandit 300's on the way back to the ramp after it warmed up. We did not catch any crappie, but we did catch 12 fish. We caught an assortment of white bass, yellow bass, largemouth and spotted bass. The Crappie Kid (formerly known as Net Girl) and I had a great time. She can catch them - She can net them and she makes a great fishing partner.

It was hot today and The Crappie Kid was asking to fish in some shade by 8:30AM. We only fished until 9AM.

Man you are right about it being hot. Good catch even if a Speckled one didn’t cross the deck. I like pulling cranks and seeing that rod tip go down...you never know what is on the other end. You got a great fishing partner there, enjoy them while you can.

Nice report, Jay. Did you keep the yellow bass? It may be my new favorite fish to eat. I just wish that I could find about 30 that were 1/2 pound size. You are doing a good job of training your partner to fish. You probably can’t reach the crappie right now while trolling unless you used a downrigger. Lolol.

No I didn't keep any of the whites or yellow bass. They were all pretty....and small.
