    Default Fishing with Biofisher 5/21/20

Gary Fomby aka Biofisher fished with me today and we had a mixed bag of fish. We were out about 5 hours and for a May 21, the weather was very unusual. Cloudy, cold, wind, although light, was changing directions every 10 minutes. It just about drove Crazy Ivan nuts trying to adjust the spot lock feature. We both were saying that we would give $2 for a cup of coffee. This has been a very non typical spring or year. Hardly any winter and more rain than we get in two years it seems. Colder temps this spring is the norm now.

TVA has been spilling water in what seems like forever and finally last week closed the floodgates only to open them back up on Tuesday. That ruined my technique that I have for Smallmouth bass so Gary and I decided to fish for crappie and Shellcrackers. The water temp is up to 70.7 at the ramp in Wolftever creek.

we kept a few bluegills for catfish bait and checked several areas looking for crappie. Along the way we found about 3 or 4 bass but only one keeper largemouth that is going to be our dinner tonight. We landed 5 keeper crappie and had a couple of short crappie. Fish were suspended on my graph, but the keepers came off the bottom in 25 feet of water.

Im going to change areas and techniques tomorrow and see if we can learn anything. We will be doing something below Watts Bar that I have been doing below Chickamauga lately that has been productive. Stay tuned. Grin.

Good to see you after them again, it’s about time for that Summer time pattern to start. They are releasing all this water up here heavy, and our lakes are still rising so look out.

Work is interfering with my fishing at the moment, and the holiday weekend isn't going to help matters any... Good job DK and Bio.
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6

Crazy spring for sure, but you certainly seem to be adapting!

You haven’t missed much except time on the water. I have caught a few crappie lately, but the bite was slow. Nearly all fish that I have caught were during the feeding period that is shown on my fishing calendar app. Fish are in transition toward their summer structures.
