    Default Advice on Watts Bar

Let's see if I get some hints here. Facebook sure is dead. I certainly am not looking for any spots. But I have a smaller boat, 15ft with a 20hp motor so gunning down the lake takes a bit longer. Just getting back into fishing and haven't fished the Bar much. Target will be crappie, bluegill, shellcrackers. Given my location (Clinton) what would be a good ramp to use? I am thinking Caney Creek but open to suggestions.

There are some guys here that fish Watts Bar. I have yet to fish it any. The Chick is real close to the house. That's usually where I end up.

Not sure as I fish the lower 1/3.

Here is a good resource, as it shows all the access points for the state:

Same here, tournament fished greenies up there for 20yrs but know JACK about where to slab-fish up there (especially up high).

This time of year, find some mud-flat sloughs on the North side of the lake from 8-2ft of water water and drift floats with jigs in various depths, close to the bottom. Usually hate the wind but its good for this kind of deal. You should find some takers.

I have been bass fishing it quite a bit lately on the north side, coming out of Pole Cat. Just like M GO BLUE said, those flat mud coves have been loaded with them lately. We pulled up in one the other day and low and behold, there was no social distancing goin on there ! Must have been over 20 boats in there swinging em in. Just south of Pole cat a ways. Hope this helps ya out

Hey we live in Clinton too and if we fish Watts Bar, we put in at Caney Creek...we have some coves that we have found some good brush piles in (18 to 25 fow) that we like to fish within a mile or two of the ramp. Just go under the overpass and start with the coves off to the left after you get around that first big bend. Matt Xenos who runs the East TN Crappie club has some videos posted on his "Wired to Fish" you tube channel and the last 3 or 4 videos he has done are on the bar, I think there is some great tips on there, you may want to check it out.
