    Default Stripers 3/15/2020

I apologize for posting a Striper report on our crappie forum, but I know that some of you are interested in the reports.
Slab, I promise not to post many of these Striper reports as I will get back to crappie fishing after the spawning run.

Phil and I took a new friend, Bill Grant, with us to Watts Bar dam to fish for Stripers. We landed 26, plus 4 Drum, and one channel catfish on 5” chartreuse plastics on 1/2 ounce shadhead jigs that I pour and paint.

Water temp was 51.9, water flow with 10 flood gates open was 68,000 cfs. Our biggest fish was 25 pounds, and a Phil and I had a double on that we had fun with. It looked like a Chinese fire drill in the boat as we safely landed 18 and 17 pound Stripers at the same time.

Bill had never caught a Striper before and the smile on his face when he caught his first fish was priceless. He later caught a 15 pound, 5 ounce Striper. He is hooked now.

Very nicely done. I'm sure you guys had a blast catchin' those beauties. Those baits closely resemble the 360 search baits that I plan to try on Jordan Lake stripers here in Central NC.
Are you casting and reeling those baits or are you trolling them at slow speeds?? Thanks for sharing your day with us.

Good showing DK, WOW 26!?! I bet yall's arms are going to need some Ben-gay or Bio-freeze in the morning if not already! It's about time for me to make another cast at em'.

The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.

We were running boat up within 30 yards of the flood gates, making a cast and then drifting about 200 yards while keeping in touch with our jigs. Fish were located a few days ago and the pattern hasn’t changed yet, but will in two more days when they close the flood gates. This will move the fish. Then repeat over and over.
