Default Saturday trip in the creek. 2/22/2020

I normally don’t fish on Saturdays as it is usually crowded on the Chick and today was no exception. But, Mr S invited me to go with him and check out Soddy creek and since I rarely fish Soddy, I thought that would be better than watching golf on TV.

We never found a fish that would bite in Soddy, so we ran to Possum creek and scanned several places on our way to the back end of the creek. We found fish on a few places and decided to hit them.

On one particular blowdown, I caught 7 short crappie and 2 bluegills while Lebron was experimenting with different colors. When I finally convinced him that they were biting the color that I was using, he finally switched to my color.

We moved to a different blowdown and he caught 4 keepers while I caught 3 keepers and one short on that one tree before they got mad at us and quit biting. We were releasing all fish today as we caught them, but we should have kept the bigger fish until they quit biting before releasing them. They probably went back to the school and told on us. Grin.

Water color in Possum was sandy green. Still lots of current in the river, over 120,000 cfs. and the temp was 50.1. Parking lot was full and bass boats zooming up and down the creek every minute or so. They nearly rocked me to sleep. Lolol. Black/chartreuse is the color right now until water clears.

Still much better than sitting on the couch and watching TV. Thanks for sharing.

Nothing like the gentle rocking created by a bass boat going from 70-0 in 1.3 seconds! Sounds like y’all got em figured out just fine!

Good company is hard to find when you are in a boat...
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6

Saturday morning was 21 degrees here and snow lingering on the ground from Thursday, I passed. Good catch and have had the same thing happen to me before with releasing fish, or at least that was my story also and I am still sticking to it.
