    Default Beautiful crappie day. 1/08/20

The day was fair and the sun was yellow....and the crappie came out to play. Dr Phillip and I caught fish in the 4 spots that we tried. The fish were on brush and stumps.

Stink bug minnow mind’R byBobby Garland and Ghastly minnow slab slayers were Phil’s choice of lures. I caught my fish on BPS 2” Chartreuse Glow baby Shads. TVA was spilling water and the flow rate was over 109,000 cubic feet per second. Needless to say, we didn’t fish in the main river portion of the lake, but weren’t far off. Grin.

We landed 23 keepers and had about that many short fish. Much fun to catch these fish. Man they are getting fat these days. We had a pair of 13” fish to be the largest of the bunch. Phil is having a fish fry for his hunting club, so we kept the fish today.

My first fish was a Drum, so I got my pet out of the way early. I also added a largemouth bass that was released. Wanda asked me why I didn’t keep it. It is her favorite fish to eat, but I told her it was only 14” long. It is one lucky fish.

    VERY NICE!!

I have given up the prospect of tail-water fishing until further notice, as Watts Bar will be spilling until further notice
However, we did just finish a big, black-iron skillet full of Walleye Hope the last bag in the freezer will outlast the dad-gum precipitation around here

Great catch, our lakes are sluicing all excess water that is falling, up and down like a yo yo they are. That live well shot speaks for itself......Fish Fry is on.
