    Default Cherokee Lake

I was wondering if anyone live close enough to tell me how muddy Cherokee is after this recent rainfall? We were planning on going down to fish on Monday if it wasn't just terrible.

I live 5 minutes from the middle section of the lake. I can tell you that today it was dingy to off colored in the channel at DA Green Bridge. The major feeder creeks were pouring in muddy water yesterday but clearing a little by this afternoon. According to TVA website it has come up about 3ft, and will probably raise another foot before leveling off and they pull it back down some. By tomorrow afternoon I expect the upper half of the lake will be stained considerably if not muddy. The lower half should not be affected as much. If you are fishing a particular area I might be able to check it out from the boat ramps if I have time. Good luck if you come down.

PS Having 15mph winds tonight so it probably will not help matters.

Here are a couple shots from the overlook at Panther Creek. Looking right towards Cardinal Cove the water looks good, not really stained at all.

Here are a couple pictures from Panther Creek Boat Ramp. This Creek is spring fed and is already running clear. I would just consider this water slightly stained, just right for Crappie fishing.

Cardinal Cove is a little ways up from this area I visited today but I would say the water should be fish able, no problem. Good luck!

Yes, should be able to no problem, it is shallow going back to right into creek itself but slow idle out and you will have plenty of water
